Alright!  First good news to come from all this!  As of last night at 9:45 pm, the evacuation order for Lac Ste Anne has been lifted and people are now allowed to return to their homes there.  That fire is still burning, but it is now under control.  However, the fire south of High Level is still raging out-of-control, and the evacuation order for that area is still in place.  They are now saying that the fire started at the Norbord Inc. Industrial Yard, which produces oriented strand board.  Fortunately High Level itself is currently out of harm's way.
I don't know how many people are paying attention to Alberta's apparent fire problem, but it's a pretty big one: there are now FIVE individual forest fires burning: there's the one which is currently putting Fort McMurray to the torch, there is one menacing Lac Ste. Anne and area (there's a mandatory evacuation going on there, just like in Fort McMurray, and if I could get above the trees around my house and look, I would see the smoke from it (I live just north of Stony Plain Alberta, not too far away from Lac Ste. Anne), there is one burning along highway 881 from Fort McMurray (caused by an explosion resulting from a fatal collision between an SUV and a tractor trailer which were, incidentally, fleeing the Fort McMurray fire), there is one raging near High Level (causing an evacuation of the immediate area, although High Level itself is not in danger at this time), and there is one raging 8 km south of Fort Vermilion.  It's pretty messy!  Heck, I even know some of the people fleeing the Fort McMurray fire; my sister's boyfriend has family up there, and they're now down here with the rest of his family (while he himself is still up in the oil sands, which have been forced to scale back their production due to the fires).  People are living nightmares right now.

There is a way for anyone interested in helping out to help.  The Alberta Red Cross has set up an Alberta Fires Appeal page for donations here: donate.redcross.ca/ea-action/a…
I just got back from watching Star Wars: Episode 7: The Force Awakens in theatres.

Ho.  Ly.  S**t!

Out of respect for anyone who has not yet seen it and wishes to, I will not say anything about it (although I'd LOVE to) except for one thing: it's awesome.  And if you plan to see it, good for you! You won't regret it.  If you DON'T plan on seeing it, on the other hand, then PLAN ON SEEING IT.  ESPECIALLY if you loved the original Star Wars trilogy.  You will be doing yourself a GREAT disservice if you do not go and see The Force Awakens in theatres while you still can.  And if you're worried that it's going to be the prequel trilogy all over again, trust me: the prequels have NOTHING on The Force Awakens(and I mean that in the best way possible).  So go.  See it. Get your mind blown away just like it was when you saw Star Wars for the very first time.  And then try not to say anything about it to your friends (it will NOT be easy!).

Bottom line is, if you love Star Wars, you will love the new one.  Go see it in theatres while it's in them.  You won't regret it.

I'm going to end this here, now, before I inadvertently spoil anything.  'Bye for now!
Hello!

I've been addicted to Kerbal Space Program for a little while now, and have decided to share my in-game experiences through YouTube.  So, i'm now creating a series of Kerbal Space Program videos which feature me building, flying, and crashing various space and aircraft!  Eventually, I hope to start doing a Let's Play sort of thing (playing through the Kerbal Space Program Career Mode), which should be quite fun!  You can watch these videos on my YouTube channel here, so please, do check them out, and enjoy them (and subscribe to my channel for more!)!
Hello,

I've been rather busy this past while (which is why I haven't been doing much of anything on DeviantArt), but I've got free time on my hands now, so I should become a bit more active, uploading photographs and possibly other art.  On another note, the robins are back in one of the nests in my yard, and there're now babies in that nest.  Haven't gotten a good look at them yet, but they're only a few days old, and making quite a fuss at times!  I haven't been able to do so so far, but I hope to get some pictures of them at some point soon, and when I do I'll put them up here.  Ciao!
YAY!! IT'S 2015 NOW!!  WHEEEE!!! *ahem* Anyhoo, first few seconds of 2015!  Fireworks are going off in my neighbourhood, people are drinking (somewhere), and everyone's made New Year's resolutions ( won't tell you mine, largely because I haven't figured out what they are yet).  So, 2015!  I am looking forward to this new year.  I'm looking forward to new movies (including Star Wars, yay!!!), new experiences, new friends, and of course, lot's of new works of art from everyone on DeviantArt, myself included!  So, here's to the new year!  Here's to 2015!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Now, out of curiosity, what things are YOU looking forward to this year?  Leave a comment below and let me know!  Ciao for now!!
So another year has come and is now in its final minutes.  Looking back on it, I'd say 2014 was a pretty good year all around.  Video game history was made with "The Bloodbath of B-R5RB", the largest and costliest player vs. player battle in gaming history, Doctor Who got an awesome new Doctor, we landed a spacecraft on a comet for the first time ever, and we got an awesome teaser for a new Star Wars movie (I can't wait!).  So here's to the old year (you'll have to imagine me toasting with a glass of Sparkling Apple Juice).  So long, 2014!  It was nice living you.  As for you all, well, we're now into the last 3 minutes of 2014, so, to thee I say this:  see y'all in 2015!
It's been a while, hasn't it?  I last made a journal in June!  Anywho, seeing as how it's now October, and the 31st no less, I thought i'd pop onto my profile and make another one.  So, how've you been since June?  I've been quite busy.  I've been back at NAIT since the start of September, continuing on in the Digital Media and IT program.  I've been enjoying it quite a bit.  Lots of spare time on my hands, which I'd been putting to some (more or less) good use.  Unfortunately one of my audio drivers decided to stop working and crash my one-and-only favourite laptop on me, and put it in the shop for two weeks (they never figured out the problem).  Got it back now, but without all of my files (my backup recovery is apparently corrupted) and with very few pieces of software on it.  Also I've got a massive pile of catching up work to do, so Free Time: GONE.  Aaaand on that note, I had best get back to it.  But first...*inhales* HAPPY HALLOWE'EN DEVIANTART!:ghost *Free Icon/Emote* Halloween Pusheen :GiveMeYourCandy: This is Halloween BOGEDYBOO!! Happy Halloween!
Hello!

I realize it's been a little while since my last upload.  Mostly because I haven't felt like putting anything up.  But that will soon change!  I promise!  Also,  I am happy to report that the nest outside our back door is, as of yesterday, occupied by baby robins (I watched mama bird feeding them).  Hope to get some pictures of them the next time I get a chance.  See you then!
Hello,

Recently I was looking around on DeviantArt, and I came across this request for help.  Gottheart (a fellow Deviant) has spent the past 5 years of her life living with Chronic Lyme Disease.  All attempts to treat it have so far failed, and the money required for these treatments is causing financial difficulties for her family.  Therefore, she has decided to try to raise money to help.  This money will go toward medication and treatments for this terrible disease.  I have promised to help out by spreading information about it around however I can, and so, for starters, i am putting it here.  Check out the following links for the original message and fundraising site, and do what you can to help out!

Hi, it's me, Shadowkey392.

November 11th is an important day all over the world.  It originally stood as a day of remembrance and celebration, a time when people could celebrate  Germany's signing of the Armistice and the official end of the First World War, and the lives of those who had fought and died to make that possible.  After the Second World War, it became a day to celebrate the ends of both wars.  Today, it has become a holiday during which we can celebrate the peace and the freedom we now have, and honor those who gave their lives to win it for us.  So, seeing as how today is November 11th, I thought it would be appropriate to wish you all a happy November 11th (as, except for Remembrance Day and Veteran's Day, I do not know what the names this day is given around the world) as we all honor those who have/are served/are serving, fought/are fighting, and died in the armed forces all over the world, as without them, we would not be the free world that we are today.  So have a happy November 11th, fellow artists, and if it's not a happy day, then at least let it be a good day.

Best wishes,

Shadowkey392
THIS IS AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE FROM SHADOWKEY392.  HE REGRETS TO INFORM YOU THAT HE MAY NOT BE UPLOADING ANYTHING EVER AGAIN DUE TO THE FACT THAT HIS MIND HAS EXPLODED FROM THE SHEER AWESOMENESS OF GUILLERMO DEL TORO'S "PACIFIC RIM."  HE SAYS TO SAY THAT IT IS FRIGGIN' AWESOME, AND THAT IF YOU LIKE TRANSFORMERS (NOT NECESSARILY THE MOVIES) AND/OR THE ANIME EVANGELION, YOU WILL LOVE THIS.  THAT IS, IF YOU STILL HAVE ANY BRAIN MATTER LEFT TO LOVE WITH AFTER YOUR BRAINS HAVE BEEN BLOWN ACROSS THE THEATRE.  WILL UPDATE ON SHADOWKEY392'S BRAIN STATUS IN FUTURE, OR HE MAY POST SOMETHING HIMSELF WHEN FIXED.
Hi, people,

Just got back from the worst camping trip in a very long time (got back around 7:00, I think), and decided to say Happy Father's Day!

As for how my trip was the worst in a very long time: I stepped in a river, banged both my shins yesterday (gouged one out pretty good, it still hurts!), hiked up a mountain in the rain, got stormed on by rain, hail, and hundred-mile-an-hour winds on top of the mountain, and that's about it.  But on the plus side, the weather was good at other times, saw some pretty good scenery, and I got some good pictures out of it (I hope to put some up soon).

From,

Shadowkey392
Hey y'all!

I just felt like wishin' all of you a happy Mother's Day!  I may or may not create something for this occasion, and if I do, it will not be up today, or for a while, most likely.  Also, I am nearing completion with one of my other projects, and I hope to have it done and up pretty soon, if fate permits it.
Hello!

Been a while since I last felt I had a reason to type a journal, so I'm typing this one now with the intention of wishing everyone a happy Easter!  So, now I say it:  Happy Easter, DeviantArt!  I hope everyone had a great weekend, and did something exciting.  I can't say as much for myself.  About the most exciting thing I did this weekend was risk falling a couple feet while trying to get easter eggs off the back of our fireplace.  I don't really have the time to make this long-winded, even though I'd love to, so I just wanted to say what I've said.  Also, I don't know how soon I'll actually be able to do this, but I hope to be posting images from my Christmas trip to Hawai'i soon (and by the way, the apostrophe is not a spelling error, nor is it actually an apostrophe.  It's a letter in the 13-or-so-letter Hawaiian alphabet).  So, with luck, I'll have some stuff up soon, and I'll talk, or rather "type", to you later!

From,

Shadowkey392
Here's an awesome-sounding quote I just invented:  "When the ideas flow from your head to the paper, and it seems as though you are nothing more than a conduit for them, that is when you are truly a Master of Art."

What do YOU think?
Got up.  Did some homework.  Cleaned up room.  Got in scuffle with sister while doing so (she wanted to rearrange the room, while I did not).  I wound up pinning  her to the windowsill with my bed until my other sister got herself involved (siding with my sister, of course).  Had epic 2-on-1 battle (in which I emerged triumphant).  Continued to clean up room.  Found Mexico Journal (journal in which I recorded our daily activities and photographs from my family's 2005 trip to Mexico).  I really want to go back there now!  Had family over for delicious dinner.  Must go now.  See ya!
